Let me tell you, this is just like finding a parking space - if you park in the right place, you save worry and effort, but if you park in the wrong place, you will be troubled every minute!

The controller is a "smart housekeeper""

Let’s first understand what this thing does. ​ ​The controller is equivalent to the nerve center of the display​ ​, mainly does three major things:

• ​​signal translator​ ​: Convert computer/mobile phone signals into language that LED can understand
• ​​color commander​ ​: In charge of the color matching of hundreds of thousands of lamp beads
• ​​health monitor​ ​: "Blood pressure and heartbeat of staring at the screen 24 hours a day""

To give a practical example, for the transparent window display project we did in Seoul last year, the debugging time was shortened by 40% compared to its peers because of the well-chosen controller location. Do you think this position is important?

Three golden rules for installation locations

Rule One:​ ​proximity principle​​

• Indoor screen: It is best to hide it in the access channel behind the screen
• Outdoor screen: a waterproof box must be installed, and the distance from the screen is ≤3 meters
• Mobile screen: directly integrated inside the box

Remember, if the signal transmission distance exceeds 15 meters, you must add a repeater, otherwise the picture will look like a jammed tape, one after another.

Rule two:​ ​environment adaptation​​

• Temperature: -20℃~50℃ is a safe zone (the controller of our professional engineering screen can withstand the severe cold of -30℃)
• Humidity: Do not exceed 85%. Remember to add anti-salt spray coating for seaside projects
• Ventilation: Leave 10cm of space for heat dissipation. If it is stuffy like an oven, something will happen.

For a fence screen project at a stadium in Tokyo, the controller was installed in the ventilation shaft under the auditorium. It is still as smooth as new after seven years.

Rule three:​ ​Easy maintenance​​

• Inspection opening size ≥60cm×60cm
• Don't install it in a "hide and seek" position like the suspended ceiling mezzanine
• Reserve network cable/power cable redundant length (it is recommended to leave an extra 1.5 meters)
