Just like when buying clothes, you need to look at the size, and you also need to understand the tricks in the model when choosing a display screen. Just now, a friend spent a lot of money to buy a P10 screen to install the front desk, but the customer got closer and saw that it was full of mosaics. Do you think this money was spent unfairly?

​​What does the P value in the model mean? ​ ​

Remember this sentence first:​​The model is the ID card, and P value contains a big secret​​. For example, P2.5 does not mean that the screen is two meters five meters. The number behind P is about the distance between two luminous points (professional name is pixel spacing). For example, P4 means that two adjacent lamp beads are separated by 4 mm.

Here is an abnormal rule:​​The smaller the number, the higher the​​! The P1.2 screen is more than three times more expensive than P4. Why? Just like the higher the pixels of a mobile phone camera, the clearer the more you see, the P1.2 screen has 690,000 lamp beads per square meter, while P4 has only 60,000.

​​How to choose indoor and outdoor models? ​ ​

It depends on where you install it:

• ​​Indoor screen​​Just like flowers in a greenhouse, P1.25 to P4 are the mainstream, and the brightness is 800-1200cd/m² is enough. Like the P4 curved advertising screen we made for Singapore, it is installed in the shopping mall atrium, and guests watch 4K promotional videos five meters away, just like watching a movie.
• ​​Outdoor screen​​It is steel bars and iron bones, P4 to P10 are the most common. Focus on three parameters: the brightness must be 4000cd/m² up, it must have IP65 waterproof certification, and also have intelligent dimming function. The fenced screen installed in Tokyo Stadium last year can still see the score clearly under the sun at noon

Here is a tip:​​Depend on model ending​​. Numbers like NS-OP4, "O" represents outdoor (Outdoor), and "P4" is the dot spacing. The transparent window screen model we made for Korea also has T letters, which means it is a transparent model.

​​Brightness requirements are given​​

Don't be fooled by the merchants! The brightness of the indoor screen exceeds 1500cd/m² is a hooligan. We have done a test: install a 2000cd/m² screen in the conference room, and your eyes will become sore after half an hour of opening it. On the other hand, if the brightness of the outdoor screen is less than 4000cd/m², it will not be able to see the content clearly on cloudy days.

There is a practical case: the P6 poster screen installed in Bangkok shopping mall last year was 6500cd/m² during the day, and automatically dropped to 3000cd/m² at night, which was both power-saving and not dazzling. ​​Special treatment in special scenes​​

Let me talk about some situations that are easy to get stuck:

2. ​​Transparent screen​​To see the light transmittance, our 86% transmittance model can be used to display advertisements and not block products in the window.
3. ​​Stadium​​Determine the high refresh rate, and the screen shot below 1920Hz is full of water ripples

Here is a personal opinion:​​Don't blindly chase small spacing​​! Screens below P1.0 look great, but the maintenance cost is terrifying. We made a P1.53 command large screen for the monitoring center, and each square maintenance fee is enough to buy two 75-inch TVs.

​​Hidden test points in parameters​​

In addition to P value and brightness, these parameters also need to be seen with wide eyes:

• ​​Contrast​​: At least 5000:1, otherwise the details will not be visible in the dark mode.
• ​​Grayscale​​: 16bit is the bottom line. Our tests found that the 14bit screen shows that there will be color blocks on the sunset.
• ​​Refresh rate​​: Those who do live broadcasts must choose ≥3840Hz, otherwise the phone will be blinded by the eye when you take a photo.
• ​​Flatness​​: Take a laser pen and return the product if the ripple is more than 1mm

Have a cold knowledge:​​Different batches of the same model may be very different​​! Each batch of lamp beads in our factory is divided into color separation, and the color difference is controlled within 0.001. The brightness of the lamp beads used in some small factories is 20% different from that of red, green and blue.

​​Guide to buying screens to avoid pits​​

Finally, I would like to send you three mantras:

1. ​​Don't believe in "universal model""​​, there is no magic weapon that can be installed outdoors and local brick screens
2. ​​Don't just look at the effect pictures when looking at the real thing​​, let the manufacturer connect to the signal source to broadcast 4K test films
3. ​​Ask for the warranty scope​​Some manufacturers say that the "five-year warranty" does not include lamp beads.
