When I first came into contact with the LED screen, I was stunned by the dozen or so ports behind the device with a data cable. There were 5 USB-looking ports, and there was also an HDMI-looking one that couldn't be inserted. Later, I burned two receiving cards and realized that choosing the wrong interface is more dangerous than buying the wrong screen. Today I will talk about these interfaces hidden in corners.

1. Three major hiding places for interface location

​​Why can't my LED screen interface be found? ​ ​

1. ​​Side groove of the box​​: The outdoor screen is waterproof, and the interface area is usually hidden in the open and closed metal cover
2. ​​Receive card back​​: There will be a backup interface on the receiving card of the control system, don't miss this small square box
3. ​​Splicing gap​​: The interface of the arc screen is often distributed in the snap position of the module splicing

There is a trick: look in the opposite direction of the power line, and 80% of the interfaces are concentrated within 3 meters of the power supply module. The last time I helped someone to inspect and repair, I touched the hidden Type-C interface next to the cooling hole.

2. Interface type pairs

​​Can all these interfaces transmit video signals? ​ ​ Comparison of four common types:

Key reminder:​​Don't use USB port to transmit videos​​! That is used to upgrade the firmware, and it is easy to burn the motherboard by force-connecting signals.

3. Five pits to choose the connection line

​​Why is the line that costs 800 yuan not as useful as the one that costs 30 yuan? ​ ​

• ​​Pit 1: Wire core impersonation​​: The true coaxial cross-section is a concentric circle, and the fake is made of twisted pair wires and copper leather.
• ​​Pit 2: length virtual mark​​: HDMI cables over 50 meters must be equipped with signal amplifier, otherwise 4K will change to 480P

Test tip: Use wire to wind into a circle with a diameter of 10cm. Only those that can naturally form and do not rebound will be considered qualified.

4. Three signs of burnout of interface

Last month, I saw a large screen in a shopping mall with my own eyes because I ignored these signals:

1. ​​Interface heating​​: The normal working temperature is ≤45℃, and there must be problems with the touch
2. ​​Signal flashing​​: Sometimes, sometimes, no pictures are often a warning of poor contact
3. ​​Color offset​​: Suddenly purple or green, the voltage is unstable due to pin oxidation

Emergency plan: prepare an electronic contact reactivater. If you find a poor contact, spray it first and then unplug it, which saves 200 yuan compared to directly changing the wire.

5. Guide to cracking special interfaces

Don't panic when encountering these weird interfaces:

1. ​​Aviation plug​​: Remember the "red positive and black negative" formula, 12-pin commonly used in waterproof tank body
2. ​​Fiber Optical Interface​​: The LC connector must be inserted into a "click" sound only if it is inserted.
3. ​​Wireless receiver​​: Hidden in the card slot on the screen frame, don't tear it off as a decorative sticker

Once, when I inspected the stage floor tiles screen, I found the mini DP interface in the gaps of the LED light beads. remember:​ ​The interface may be three times smaller than you think​​。

Now when I see the interface with a lock, I am used to shaking it twice - if there is poor contact, it will feel a slight looseness. Next time you encounter a signal interruption, check the interface first and then suspect the screen, which can save 80% of the repair costs. By the way, don’t believe in “universal adapters”. Among the 17 adapters I have collected, the only ones that support EDID transmissibility are the two that are truly reliable.
