Do you always think that the size of the LED large screen is like Schrödinger's cat - you will never know the real size without unpacking it? Last week, I saw a guy from the advertising company measuring the diagonal line with a tape measure against the screen, but he also counted the border and made a big joke. Today, let’s take a look at the tricks that will not be explicitly stated in this industry!
Stop using the mobile phone distance measurement app!I skipped eight hundred times when I saw these pitfalls:
Diagonal Trap:
Measure the diagonal of the screen and divide it by 2.54? wrong!
The actual display area of the LED screen is 5-8cm smaller than that of the case
Correct way: disassemble the border to measure the lamp bead area
Model scheming:
Do you think P4 is a 4mm spacing? A big mistake!
P4 actual point spacing = 4.8mm (industry general calculation method)
Real size = number of modules × single module size
Power estimation deviation:
Someone calculates power consumption based on the screen area
Actual power consumption = number of lamp beads × single power consumption (0.2W-0.5W)
Take a look at a chestnut: 10㎡ P4 screen ≈ 120,000 lamp beads × 0.3W=36kW
Remember this mantra: "Three views, two calculations and one actual measurement"
Look at module encoding:
The sticker on the back of the box hides key information
For example, NS-P4-320×160 means:
Calculate pixel density:
Pixel points per square meter = 1,000,000÷(point spacing mm²)
P4 screen density = 1,000,000÷(4.8×4.8) = 43,402 points/㎡
Actually measured grayscale calibration:
Use professional test maps to detect effective display areas
Focus on whether there are dark areas in the surrounding borders (exceeding 2cm is an abnormality)
The fenced screen made for Tokyo Stadium last year is a typical example:
Don't be fooled by the parameter table! These three hidden details need to be checked:
I have to say that many manufacturers now play sizes into numbers. The most outrageous case I have ever seen - a nominal 100-inch screen with an actual display area of only 92 inches! So remember:It is better to look at the number of lamp beads than to look at the size, and it is better to check the parameters than to check the uniformity of grayscale. The next time you purchase, you will bring a pixel density calculation formula, so that the suppliers will not dare to make random quotes!
