Have you ever attended a wedding where the bride and groom are blocked by a large screen? Or have you ever encountered a situation where guests collectively tilted their heads to look at the screen while playing wedding photos? Harmful! This is all because the LED large screen is not inconsistent. Today we will talk about this seemingly simple but actually many technical jobs - especially the young people who are preparing to get married, so we have to take out a notebook to record the key points.
1. The "Golden Triangle Area" at the wedding scene
Let’s talk about the three most common places:
- First behind the stage: 95% of the newcomers are here, but there is a fatal problem - the newcomers stand in front of the video directly blocked! It is recommended to raise the screen to more than 2.5 meters, or make it into an arc-shaped surround design. A while ago, a friend used this plan at his wedding. The guest said that when he saw the newlyweds turn around, it seemed like he was turning around in the IMAX theater, which was amazing.
- Banquet room on both sides: Suitable for rectangular sites, but pay attention to the screen tilt angle. The last time the guest sitting in the corner complained, he twisted his neck all the time when he looked at the screen, and almost broke his pillow the next day.
- Ceve hanging type: Don’t try this hall with a floor height of less than 5 meters. But it would be great if it was made into a transparent ceiling, which could not only play videos but also prevent crystal lamps, you know.
2. How to choose a location for different venues?
Hotel Banquet Hall: Priority is given to the combination of stage background wall + auxiliary screens on both sides. There is a very interesting data - a wedding with three screens is equipped with a 70% chance of guests shooting short videos in the circle of friends.
Outdoor lawn wedding: Don’t put it on the ground directly! Last time I saw someone using a waterproof screen with a bracket, and it still played steadily on heavy rains. The IP65 protection level came in handy at this time.
Featured venues (such as art gallery): You can consider embedding the screen in a decorative wall, or using a mobile cart-style screen. The most amazing thing I have ever seen is to install the screen on the rotating stage. The screen rotates when the newcomer appears, which is very exciting.
3. Don’t be sloppy in technical parameters
Let me talk about some easy points to ignore:
- The brightness must be automatically adjusted: Choose 800-1200cd/m² indoors, and 4000cd/m² or above outdoors. A couple held a ceremony in the glass room in the afternoon. The screen was adjusted to the highest brightness and was suppressed by the sun. The guests couldn't see the kissing scene clearly.
- Refresh rate is at least 1920Hz: The videos taken will not appear ripples. Last time I watched Douyin, I saw a wedding video. The groom's tie shook into wavy lines on the screen, and the comments section was laughing crazy.
- Test the machine 3 hours in advance: This sentence needs to be highlighted! Temperature changes will cause the screen to deform slightly. In one case, the screen suddenly appeared in the half hour before the ceremony. Fortunately, the engineer was on site with a backup module.
4. The secret of special gameplay
Nowadays, young people are having fun, and LED screens are not just about playing videos:
- Floor tile screen interaction: When the newcomer walks through the red carpet, the screen under his feet has a special effect of flowers. Special attention should be paid to load-bearing issues, and it is best to choose a model with tempered glass protection.
- Transparent screen dining table: Guests can watch newcomers’ love videos while having a meal, and can also send blessings on the touch screen. But you have to prevent oil stains. You definitely don’t want to see fingerprints on the screen, right?
- Mirror screen photo area: It can be used as a mirror and display electronic albums. Remember to control the temperature of the screen surface below 40℃. Don’t ask me how I know this detail...
5. Lessons from the blood and tears of those who have passed
Let me remind you of some real cases:
- At a wedding, the screen was placed too close to the speaker, and the subwoofer shook the screen out of moiré patterns, and the screen was filled with water ripples when the oath was played.
- The outdoor wedding used a screen without a sunshade, and the reflection turned the bride's white wedding photos into fluorescent green. The photographer's later retouching of the photo was so broken.
- The most outrageous thing is that the screen stand is not fixed properly. The screen suddenly leans forward when the newcomer hugs and kisses, and almost stages the real-life version of "Titanic".
6. Personal opinion time
I have to say that choosing a large screen position must follow the "three visible" principles: the newcomer can see while standing, the guests can see while sitting, and the photographer can see through the lens. Now some wedding companies are trying to save trouble and we need to be more careful. By the way, don't believe in the nonsense of "the bigger the screen, the better". Last time I saw someone stuffing a 20-square-meter screen into the 200-square-meter hall. The oppression was like looking at a giant billboard. The bride stood in front of her and was almost made into a thumb girl.
The last nagging sentence is heart-wrenching: Go to the scene in advance to watch the installation! I feel too relieved to have a couple, but on the wedding day I found that the screen position was 30 cm away from the design drawing, so I cut off the groom's handsome face in half. If you want to put this on, I am afraid I have to perform a smile disappearing technique on the spot, right?
