Do you also think those big luminous screens in hotels are magical? Displaying photos of newlyweds at weddings, displaying PPT in meetings, and scrolling menus in restaurants—all these scenes are inseparable from LED screens. But many people are confused when they first come into contact with it: Where should such a big guy go? Corner or ceiling? Embedded in the wall or suspended in mid-air? Today we will break it apart and crush it to make it clear.

Where should the hotel LED screen be placed? You will understand after reading this article!

Remember the three golden positions first : Lobby reception area, banquet hall main stage, restaurant wall. This is not said casually. According to industry statistics, 80% of LED screens in hotels are concentrated in these three areas. For example, a transparent screen is installed on the background wall of the front desk so that guests can see the dynamic welcome message when they enter. ; The main stage of the banquet hall uses a P4 high-definition screen, and the shots of the newlyweds kissing can be zoomed in to every corner. ; The restaurant wall is equipped with an interactive floor tile screen, and special effects animations will appear when children step on it.

However, there are specific considerations in how to choose the location. Last month, a hotel manager installed a screen next to the fire escape, but was asked to make rectifications on the opening day. It’s time to move out of industry standards: The installation point must avoid escape passages, be no more than 15 meters away from the nearest power interface, and the viewing distance should be at least 3 times the height of the screen. . For example, for a 4-meter-high screen, the audience has to stand 12 meters away to see the full picture. If the venue is not big enough, it is better to lengthen it laterally than to add height.

The three most common pitfalls for novices:

  1. I chose a low-brightness screen for cheap, but the result was serious reflection during the day (it is recommended to start with 4000cd/m² for outdoor screens)
  2. There is no maintenance access, so you will have to dismantle the ceiling to replace parts later.
  3. The power cord was exposed and was photographed by a customer who complained about it online.

At this time, someone may want to ask: How to install those transparent screens hidden behind the glass? This high-end gameplay is really popular now. For example, a hotel revolving door is equipped with transparent screens with 86% light transmittance on both sides. It is ordinary glass during the day and turns into an advertising window at night. But there are three points to note: The thickness of the tempered glass must be ≥12mm, the load-bearing capacity per square meter must not exceed 18kg, and the control box must be hidden in the ceiling. . There was a case last year where a hotel inserted a control box into the back of the screen, resulting in poor heat dissipation and burning the motherboard.

When it comes to installation methods, there are actually three methods:

  • wall mounted : Suitable for load-bearing walls, fixed like hanging oil paintings
  • Ceiling type : The roof is made of steel structure, suitable for high-ceiling halls
  • Mosaic : Leave grooves in the wall in advance to have the strongest sense of integrity.

But there are many details in the specific operation. For example, for hoisting, 40 * 40mm galvanized square tubes should be used as supports, and 6 expansion bolts should be provided per square meter. One hotel used ordinary angle iron instead, but the screen began to wobble three months after it was installed. Another example is inlaid installation. The gap between the frame and the wall must be controlled within 5mm, otherwise dust accumulation will be particularly obvious.

Maintenance is a protracted battle . The most exaggerated case I have seen is that the hotel has not been cleaned for five years since its opening, and the screen brightness is only 60% of the original value. Remember these numbers: the module surface must be wiped with 95% alcohol every quarter, the exhaust fan must be replaced once a year, and the overall circuit aging must be detected every three years. If there are flashes of color on the screen, it's probably because the power cord is not in good contact - don't make a fool of yourself at this time, and quickly ask the manufacturer to bring a backup power supply.

Some people may still be confused: Which one to choose between LED screen and projector? Let’s put it this way, if you often hold weddings or press conferences, choose LED screens decisively. Projectors cannot be seen clearly under strong light, but today's indoor screens can achieve a brightness of 1200cd/m², and they are still bright with the crystal lamp on. The most important thing is that the LED screen has no bulb loss and does not need to replace parts after five years of use.

Finally, a little trivia: the screen location can also affect guest consumption. Research shows that when restaurants install menu screens in waiting areas, the price per customer increases by an average of 18%. ; Gyms have installed mirror screens in the locker rooms, and the purchase rate of personal training courses has increased by 23%. So don’t think of LED screens as ordinary electrical appliances, they are smart devices that can help you make money. The next time you see the big glowing screen in a hotel, remember to think about the doorways behind it—maybe one day you will open your own store and use it?
