How to check the size of the LED screen? _Save 30% installation fee for avoiding pits in three tricks

Friends who have just entered the industry must have encountered this situation: the dimension parameters found online do not match the actual objects, and they only found that they were half a meter shorter when they were installed on the site; or they spent a lot of money to buy a super-spec screen, and 70% of the display area was dark all year round... Last week, I saw a case with my own eyes. When a shopping mall lifted a curved screen, it was found that the size error was 5 cm, and the entire steel structure had to be reworked, and the loss of 80,000 yuan was directly lost. Today we will talk about some practical things and teach you three tricks to lock precise sizes.


Three major culprits of size deviation

  1. Pixel spacing trap

    • P2.5 screen: 160,000 pixels per square meter
    • P3 screen body: 110,000 pixels per square meter

Three moves to lock precise size

​The first trick: on-site surveying and mapping method
Bringing these three tools is ten times more reliable than the sold drawings:

  1. Laser rangefinder (Error ≤1mm)
  2. Thermal imager (find the hidden load-bearing column)
  3. Fisheye lens (simulated display effect at 150° viewing angle)

Test case: A hotel lobby originally planned to install an 8x4-meter screen, and use a fish eye lens to find the column blocking, and replace it with 6x3.5 meters + fill light strips on both sides, which saves 15% of the budget.

​The second trick: quick calculation of formula
Remember these two golden formulas:

  • Minimum viewing distance = pixel pitch (mm) × 1000
    (The best viewing distance of P3 screen = 3mm×1000=3 meters)
  • Screen width = content width ÷ 0.75
    (To display a 6-meter wide screen, an 8-meter screen is actually required)
