Ouch! Are those who are new to the industry often confused by this iron box? Yesterday, a customer asked me: "This large LED screen is showing off its face and not working. Where can I find a sending card?" "Today I will take you through this thing!
1. What is the role of the sending card?
This product is like the "nerve center" of the display screen. For example, for the stadium fence screen our company made for Japan, the sending card is hidden in the third compartment of the waterproof control box. It processes picture data with a refresh rate of 1920Hz every day, which is equivalent to throwing 12 billion pixels onto the screen every minute!
2. Four essential tips for finding cards
**The first trick: follow the signal line and touch it**
- First grab the HDMI cable behind the display
- Follow the lines like you're playing an escape room
- Focus on checking the metal control box or the middle layer of the equipment rack**
The second trick: look for industrial-grade looks
- Iron gray metal casing (about the same size as a router)
- With a row of blinding indicator lights
- The interface is marked "DVI/HDMI" (all our new products have been upgraded to dual HDMI ports)
The third trick: Determine the location according to the venue type
- Outdoor advertising screen: hidden in Waterproof distribution box inside
- Stage floor tile screen: hide in Stage mezzanine control cabin
- Shopping mall window screen: stuffed in decorative border hidden grid
The fourth trick: Assisted judgment of equipment status
- Flashes when the card is working normally green breathing light
- Feel the temperature of the shell (it is normal if it is slightly warm, stop cooking if it is hot)
- Listen to the fan (normally a uniform hum)
In the curved advertising screen project we did for Singapore last year, the engineer specially installed the sending card in Curved corner control cabin , which is both convenient for maintenance and anti-collision. During the installation, a guy searched for it for three hours and finally found it hidden in the rotating bracket - so the location design is really particular!
3. What to do in case of emergencies
**Situation 1: Dead or alive cannot be found**
Don't panic! Directly take live video and send it to the technical guy. Our 24-hour online engineers just helped a Korean customer remotely locate the sending card hidden in the ceiling inspection hole last week.
Scenario 2: Found but unable to operate
Remember three don’ts:
- Don't pull out the connector randomly (the interface is very delicate)
- Do not violently remove the casing (it has a warranty seal)
- Do not wipe with a wet cloth (anti-static is very important)
Let me tell you, the sending card is like the "heart" of the display screen, and finding the right location is only the first step. Remember the fence screen we made for the Tokyo Stadium? Open the control box every quarter and clean the cooling holes of the sending card with a brush - this maintenance habit has kept the equipment from malfunctioning for three years! Novice friends, remember, finding the sending card is a skill, being able to use it and maintain it is the real skill!
